Welcome to the Cairns Golf Club

Cairns Golf Club is a modern 18 Hole Championship Golf Course centrally located just minutes from the centre of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia. The Club has a fleet of 60 motorised carts is open for social play 7 days a week and has a full length floodlit driving range. We have a fully stocked Golf Shop with PGA Professionals on staff.

The modern air-conditioned clubhouse seats 120 people and is available for function hire.

Sweeping dogleg left that plays back into the prevailing breeze and is another genuine three-shotter to reach the green. Don’t hit the ball left as there is a hazard all the way down the left-hand side.

Pro Tips

Hit your tee shot to the right side of the fairway to increase the angle of the fairway for your second. Avoid missing the green to the left as it will leave you a difficult chip

Dogleg left par four. The safe play is to set up at the top of the rise with a long-iron or fairway wood off the tee leaving a mid-iron into an elevated green that has two bunkers to the right and jeopardy back and left.

Pro Tips

A very tight driving hole, you will need to be accurate off the tee using a club that goes 195m which puts you in the widest part of the fairway. The wind swirls here so choose an extra club to counter the breeze and elevated green. If you can play the ball right to left through the air you may take driver and cut the dogleg however if you miss the fairway you are in big trouble and may not find your ball.

Hit it down the left side of the fairway avoiding the woodland and leave a straightforward approach shot into one of the friendliest greens on the course with few dangers in store should you avoid the bunkers.

Pro Tips

"Aim your tee shot to the left of the fairway to avoid the large group of trees on the right. It requires 2 straight shots to get to the green on the longest par 4 on the course."

Be careful here of the big lake at about the 200-metre mark running down the right-hand side. A good drive is imperative as the fairway narrows quite considerably the further you go. Hitting into the breeze to a large elevated green, consider taking one more club. There is a little pot bunker on the left-hand side that should be avoided at all costs.

Pro Tips

"A layup short of the water on the right side of the fairway is the safe play here. You may risk it with driver but the fairway narrows the further you hit it. Extra club is needed for the second shot as it blows straight into the breeze. Avoid the pot bunker on the left of the green."
