Welcome to the Cairns Golf Club

Cairns Golf Club is a modern 18 Hole Championship Golf Course centrally located just minutes from the centre of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia. The Club has a fleet of 60 motorised carts is open for social play 7 days a week and has a full length floodlit driving range. We have a fully stocked Golf Shop with PGA Professionals on staff.

The modern air conditioned clubhouse seats 120 people is available for function hire.

There is a narrow opening to get on to the green between two bunkers, so club selection is vital. The green itself is large and you could be left with quite a long putt depending on the pin position.

Pro Tips

"Your tee shot on the longest par 3 on the course needs straight with bunkers left and right of the green with a small opening in the middle. A large green that can still leave you a long put when you are on the green. A par here and you are doing very well"

Tree trouble awaits down the left of this slight dogleg hole, so make sure you are aligned to the centre of the fairway. Around the green complex you have three well-placed bunkers. Generally it is better to lay up and play this hole as a three-shotter.

Pro Tips

"A downwind par 5 with plenty of room off the tee. Long hitters can reach the green in 2 but requires a great second shot. The safe option is to leave it short of the bunker in front of the green allowing an easy pitch shot and great chance at birdie."

Testing par 4 dogleg right. You need to hit a long drive down the left-hand side to get a shot at the green. Don’t go right, or the trees will wreck your chance of par. Water left of the green should not come into play unless you are very wayward.

Pro Tips

"The tee shot need to be down the left side of fairway to avoid the large trees on the right side. With water left and a tough chip shot right, its essential to keep you ball straight to give yourself the best chance at par."

Short par 3, but make sure you connect sweetly with your tee shot as there is water left and in front of the green. It’s a big and inviting green to hit.

Pro Tips

With water in front and left and a bunker behind the green means the club selection needs to be precise. If the pin is in the back left corner, don’t risk it and aim to the centre of the green.
